First post and introduction. I've recently moved to Colorado Springs and am looking for
community homesteading living options.

I've worn many hats with off-grid living, traveling and living like a pioneer. Earthship and natural building materials are a focus for sustainability for me and I'd love to meet others in their journey with it. Other homesteaders looking for an extra hand is also an interest to keep my skills sharp and ever-growing.

Please feel free to contact me anytime if you are local to the area or looking to move here in the near future.

Welcome from kansas. I've gone thru the earthships in Taos, NM a number of times. Was impressed with the natural cooling system. Was not impressed with where they built them, because you can not grow much of anything out there, and the recycled glass bottles that they used for windows had some breakage. Do you have an earthship?

Welcome to the group! We lived in Fountain (just south of you) until work forced us to move east, that was 29 years ago and we still miss it. I have found that everyone here has something to offer with a wide variety of knowledge to share. Again welcome!

Hello and welcome, this is a good place to be. I met my wife in Denver, bought our first home in Conifer, we loved living in the mountains but it was just getting to expensive to live in Colorado, so we moved to Pampa, Texas and ran our now ex brother-in-laws' Conoco gas station, that didn't work out so I worked in a tire shop until our home was sold and we ended up in what we consider our paradise, a couple of acres out in the woods of S.W. Oregon, in a still free area of what is known as "The Left Coast".

Hello Amish Heart. I agree that there are some things that can improve as to gardening, food production and health/safety of building materials, with the Earthship models. I do not have an earthship myself and I do love their efforts of sustainability. The places I've lived and the structures I've had experience with have been more humid than here in Colorado and what I've determined is that an arid environment that has water access by well/spring and the possible water catchment is better than being more humid. Humidity causes so many issues. I'm playing with ideas of greenhouses and the use of earthen protections from things. With all of the pollutants and pests I seek ways of protecting whilst conserving.

Hello! Are you a Suspicious Observer fan? Welcome?
Hi! I enjoy witnessing the influence of the sun effects on earth weather and the earth cycles, it's quite a thing! I'm an Emily and I observe ...often suspiciously :p I'm also a daughter who follows HIS direction, which is what brought me here. Are you an Observer?
