Hello all! I've been looking for prepping forums for a while now and just thought to google it, and found this site.
I live in TN. My husband and I have been talking about the possibility of martial law and how that would affect us where we live. We also have a 20 month old little boy.

I've been reading about prepping and what would be the best approach for my family. We live in a rural area about 50 miles outside a major city. There's farmland around us with a few neighborhoods within a couple miles. Most of our neighbors have small yard gardens and we're planning our own since we just moved here. But through our discussion we've decided that martial law is definitely a possibility. We're still doing research but we've started buying water and I've been buying canned goods for a few months now. Mostly canned beans and soups that are on sale. We live on a very tight budget so I try to maximize what I spend.
I look forward to rummaging through these forums for advice and ideas. I'm sure it'll be a huge help to see what has worked for other people. Just wanted to say hello!

Welcome, and don't worry about being on a tight budget, we all are. Knowledge is the most valuable prep you can accumulate. My advice is not just stock up on water, but find a way to gather and filter it as well. Same goes with food, as far as growing and hunting and preserving. Security would come third imho.

Well Howdy from extreme South Texas. Welcome to the site. If ya need help finding things or have questions, just ask.
Tennessee is a great place to be for prepping. At least y'all have "real" trees up there. All we have is mesquite trees ( actually a bush) and its hard as heck to cut, but it's great for cooking. lol

Spent some time up around Sevierville, really enjoyed the trip to the knife factory.
