[Family Tree Homestead]

Well... After trying the big city life for a grand 4 months, we've finally decided to get our homestead up and running. We're married with several kiddos. We're looking to do a simple, low tech small house and grow produce, goats, rabbits and a variety of other hand made products including high end rustic light fixtures and decor (wintertime).
We're moving to land that's been in the family for generations. It's where I grew up. My wife and I are public school teachers by trade, but we just can't do it anymore. We'll finish out this school year and be full-time in May.

Hi @Family Tree Homestead and welcome to the forum from Australia . I & DH are also embarking on an adventure buying our first home together on acreage, although we have been in the country for a while, and set up a homestead in a rental property temporarily.

I don't get here much for about five months of the year due to the nature of our business. I do really enjoy it when I get to pull up a stump and set for a while
