Hi,

I'm Joe. I've been into prepping, on a light level for some time. It started out with just me cooking my own food, which meant storing food by buying it when prices are low. Now, I'm aware that there are many possible problems in the world that can lead to disaster. I started a prepper blog, where I plan to record the take steps I take to become more prepared. I decided to join forums to learn from other preppers and to share what I learned along the way.

I'm more interested in preparing for more common catastrophes in life, such as storms, job loss, illness, and injury, than total end of the world scenarios. Oh, and fires and break-ins. Many of these things are events we are all sure to face. That said, I think it is easy to see the possibility of a currency collapse and that means going without food for a time. I'd like to be prepared for that.

welcome from Fin :)

oh,haven't my preps saved my butt many times when cash was low,but hungry,no that's not what I've experienced thanks to my preps.

howdy from a Texan .... and welcome to the forum and family...there's quiet a few knowledgeable folks here that'll gladly tell ya what you need to know,or at least point ya in the right direction and/or give ya a good idea or 2..and by all means jump right on in with any replies you have on a topic.and start new topics if/when needed...

No kidding storms. A tornado (EF5) blew through here a few years back and cut power to a fairly large city for 5 days. Pretty tough for this that weren't prepared. Of course, spring decided to give way to summer weather at the same time. Lots of misery.

Welcome to the group!
