Hey there, I'm new to prepping but it's something I've wanted to do for a while. I'm in Sydney, NSW so if there is anyone near me please get in contact. I'm not prepping for anything in particular just whatever happens. Step one is working on my bug out bag/ bug out location, then moving on to firearms proficiency, hunting, food and supplies stockpiling and finishing my nursing degree (2 1/2 years to go). I also want to learn some survival in between all this so I would not have to stay in a city. If anyone out there can give me tips on anything please get in touch especially if you live close by!

I'm up in central QLD so not much help location wise. Have you signed up with http://ozprepper.com and http://www.ausprep.com ?

I also want to learn some survival in between all this
Have you considered joining a bushwalking club, not "survival" as such but bushwalkers are well versed in temporary living in the bush and spending time on multi-day walks will give you a real feel for what's required.

Dang, the editing timeout expired.

Going on overnight walks will give you a chance the tune a BOB and also get you comfortable with sleeping and living outdoors. By joining a club you can ease into this under the guidance of experienced people. I'm also pretty sure there are real survival courses based from Sydney as well, but I still think it would be better to get outdoor experience first so you aren't a total noob while paying $300 a day (or whatever) for a course.

Hey Gray Nomad thanks for the advice, I had thought of doing something like that, there's a good few groups on MeetUp who do that along with other outdoors activities such as fishing and camping and seems there's always something on! And I'll check out the other two sites now :)
