howdy from a texan.... and welcome to the forum and family...there's quiet a few knowledgeable folks here that'll gladly tell ya what you need to know,or at least point ya in the right direction and/or give ya a good idea or 2..and by all means jump right on in with any replies you have on a topic.and start new topics if/when needed.
Welcome, and most certainly there are reasons to prep. Not all include SHTF, how about storms, job loss, medical issues, etc. Any disruption of your life can be helped by having some supplies and knowledge. From a former Kentucky neighbor.

Even if you don't think that the sky is falling, Brent brought up a few good reasons to prep. I don't consider myself as a 'prepper', but in a way I do since we are prepared for most situations that may happen to come our way. It's nice to have certain items on hand when you need them. . . especially when the electricity goes out for a few days. That has been our biggest problem with our location.
