I’ve been looking into it, it’s not a big plot it’s around 3 acres . I’ve had some one out to look for water with no luck. The nearest fresh water is 3 miles across woodlands, every thing with the plot is perfect for security and food it’s just water. I’m just worried about water getting contaminated in the stream and leaving me and family in trouble. Thanks for your reply

Glad your thinking ahead. Water is the number one thing we all need. A well and a way to access it without electricity will solve your problems. Of course it’s a big investment for a bug out property. Do you plan to live there possibly?

Hi I would need planning permission to live there full time, but if and when SHTF that will be the least of any ones worries. It’s right out the way where no one passes so I am just getting every thing ready there to use when needed
Thanks for the reply

G'day from Down Under - water - No 1 on any list.
Are you able to build a shed/barn/shelter to collect run off? What about putting in a windmill?
Water is my biggest concern here too - from my bol about 400m there is an old well, water as pure as pure, but fairly deep down. I also have been told of a "hidden" water source near my bol too. I'm building a dwelling, and will also collect as much rainwater as I can.
Good luck with it all.

Water is a tough one. There’s a lot of different ways to make water filtration. I’m sure you could find some posts on here in ‘diy’ sections. Welcome to the group!!!
