I love the diversitiy in Europe, another reason why I love to be able to live in Hungary, travel to Austria, Chech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Bosnia within 3 hours. The immediate change of traditions, languages, food and cultures is absolutely amazing. Such a diverse range of peoples living next to each other, is proof that we can (or could!!) all live together in peace if only the Gov't would keep its nose out of our business.....live free, Gary

I see you added a few, I was so busy listening to The Hu that I haven't made it to the other ones yet. BTW, Thank you very much.... now I need to Rosetta Stone Mongolian... As if I didn't have enough to do :) The subtitles to those songs were just as amazing as it sounded. Closest I ever came to learning a new language was a friend's scheißen, lol. This is WAY more interesting! I was so distracted by that my alcoholic a$$ forgot about drinking! Have a great night and thanks for sharing those :) !!!!!! I'll definitely listen to the rest as I head to bed, they are in my playlist now. Have a good night GaRp58!

It is always the governments that drive the people into a war, the people themselves can live without war, war means only loss for the people, be it human losses or the loss of much.
Here are a few links to Russia, there are people on all sides who want to live in peace and I must say there are very beautiful songs from Russia that are as fascinating as this great country with many cultures and myths.

Slightly OT, if you like to see diverse cultures sharing something good involving music and dance have a look on YT at the global Jerusalema dance challenge. Its a delight.

Russia is a largely unknown country, serious sources are rather rare to find, what most European media write is in many parts not true or is invented. There are too few books from Russia and about special places even less because the country is so big. There is also mismanagement and corruption, but that is also the case in Europe, what happened at the time of WW II I do not want to minimize, but Germany and other countries have also committed tremendously bad crimes. Russia is something great unknown with a very old culture, there are traditions there that have long died out here or are badly talked about.
At the present time, when in Europe and the USA monuments are toppled and famous personalities are dragged through the mud, in Russia there are still traditions like "the immortal regiment" and the memory of the war is held high. It is not a glorification of the violence of that time, for the Russian population this period was very depriving and connected with many sacrifices, but one remembers still today the simple soldiers who made the victory over Germany possible at that time. In almost no European country may or should be commemorated today this time, you can still see monuments, but they grow too or disappear, you do not want it anymore.

Here is a video of a powerful building that was built a short time ago, in Europe this would never be possible in the form, it is an honorary memory of many unknown people who died in this war.

Personally, I must say that I would never go to war against Russia, that would be pure suicide.

I loved all those videos, but I especially enjoyed hearing Czardas. My brother bought the sheet music when we lived in Teheran as children (2 years). We both took piano lessons there from a German teacher, Mrs. Zeitler. She spoke 7 languages and had students of many cultures. A very nice lady, but a slave driver she was with her students, when it came to playing Scarlatti and Diabelli. But that's how you produce results at the keyboard. :) Played Czardas just the other day in fact. :) One of my piano favs.

When I lived/worked in Russia and Kazakhstan I traveled throughout Mongolia. Sometimes on horseback and by Jeep. Its a beautiful country and the people are great. I stayed with a nomadic family part of the time. Great experience. The Mongolian throat singers can make some unusual sounds too.
I also traveled in Germany, Hungry, Spain and many other places in Europe, east and west.
I loved the few years that I spent in Russia. Great people. Still have many friends there and I hope to go back again someday.
