The EU is a childless couple. The EU is not a threat because it is dying off. Yes, they are narcissistic arrogant pricks, overall. But they are disappearing, and the EU is getting flooded and taken over by muslims. Look at the numbers, how quickly islam is growing compared to anyone else. Now a Islamic EU might be a real threat in the future, but that is some time away.

But overall the EU is riding the coattails of their past wealth & success, and it is rotting from the inside outward.

Of course the E.U. leaders hate President Trump. He has called them out on their B.S. and continues to support the U.K. in leaving. Their economy is in trouble and without the U.K. money they are going to savage each other with their continued spending.

most countries in Europe have failing economies and Germany is heading for a recession.
they want UK to stay but they wont change their ways to accommodate our concerns, they continue to bluster, prevaricate and call us dirty names.
without the billions of UK pounds that we put into the EU each year they will suffer, it may be that other countries will decide to leave too.
