KIRKLAND, Wash. (September 2015) – Icom America announces the new IC-7300 HF amateur radio. The radio was introduced at the Tokyo Hamfair 2015 and includes a high-resolution real-time spectrum scope, intuitive interface and a RF direct sampling system – an amateur radio first (as researched by Icom among major manufacturers). Pricing and availability will be released at a later date.

Icom's new IC-7300 was revealed to positive reviews at this year's JARL Ham Fair in Tokyo, Japan. The radio's real-time spectrum scope with waterfall function provides high-level performance in resolution, sweep speed, and dynamic range. A large touch screen color TFT display and multi-dial knob provide intuitive operation and fast access menu items, radio functions and levels. A built-in automatic antenna tuner and compact, rugged body makes the IC-7300 ideal for field operation.

One of the IC-7300's most popular features is its RF direct sampling system, a departure from the conventional superheterodyne system. A first in an amateur radio transceiver, the IC-7300 utilizes technology seen Software Defined Radios (SDR) and other radio equipment. This RF direct sampling system promotes a high performance spectrum scope and superior phase noise.
