I think there may be some truth to this, but I find that as a whole many richer people are complacent in their wealth and nice jobs and homes and think that nothing will happen. They laugh if you suggest that society could collapse and they would have nothing, and then they call you a paranoid conspiracy theorist and probably start getting ready to call the FBI because they think you're planning something.Yes White Flight is gradually merging with Prepping and both are merging with Homesteading / Off gridding / Smallholding and full blown Survivalism. One only has to look at how "" Progressive, diverse, enriched and liberal cities"" like Baltimore, Sydney, London, Helsinki, Oslo, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Detroit, Paris, Milan etc are going. The educated, enlightened and academics can see the writing on the wall and realising its time to get out of Dodge.
It appears even the educated middle classes who mocked and vilified preppers and survivalists are now sitting up and smelling the coffee. And Equally the Urban prepper situation is looking to become ever more dire.
Just remember the UKs Guardian newspaper is the CNN of the UK its 100% left leaning socialist, multi culti, diversity etc so if its reporting on this issue then even Londons Champagne socialists are realising the mess they created is coming home to roost.
I personally no longer campaign or try to persuade anyone to take prepping seriously as I think those who would listen have already made their minds up to become preppers, those who are left will never listen.
It seems funny to me that another global warming nut job wants to move to a coastal area. I thought the "experts" all agree that ocean levels are going to rise. Maybe they really don't believe in their own bologna after all.
I do think he has some things right or at least some good ideas, even if he is a bit on the crazy side.Even if one doesn't agree with the whole global warming lark, he did try to show how a person living in the city could provide all their needs and not have to rely on government systems. He built his home to show what could be done and basically no one cares, not even his own children. He realises if things go tits up living in the city probably wasn't the best idea, (although I agree that if he believes in global warming then the coast isn't a good option) but as he says, he is in Australia and as they have nearly zero water he is heading that way where the forests are so he can have access to rainwater.
