My Uncle that lived in Fairbanks Alaska bought a piece of property that had a Quonset hut on it.
He was loading the hut on a truck and a guy stopped and asked if he wanted to sell it.
He got more for the Quonset than he paid for the property.
If you lived in Fairbanks and you did any type of construction you probably dealt with one of my Uncles.

We have one of those, a big one. Our tractor, extra straw, and the riding mower go in there. So does our neighbor's baler, and a few other random things. The company we had parked their sports car in there till they could leave (this morning). Ours is pretty old, no doors on one end anymore. They used to hold church in there.

Well, if you consider high winds and nuclear blasts as a possibility, the Quonset Hut is a great way to go. I lived in one when my dad was working overseas and we lived there. I believe a lot of them actually were vintage World War II buildings, and they were tight as a drum against 20 years of daily rains.
