I acquired a section of blue water pipe(10”) , it actually measures 10 3/4” O. D. I plan on burying it to hide valuable that I can access when needed. I want to cap one end and the other will have the screw cap. Will a regular 10” cap fit, or do I need a special type? And then should I just look for a regular piece of white pvc pipe? I would love 12”-14”. Just don’t want to break the bank on screw cap.

We did stashes like that out at my parents' place growing up. Never used PVC pipe, though I think it should work considering we bury it all the time to keep water IN. You'll have to be careful with the screw cap though; those aren't always waterproof.

One thing I think would be wise with any buried or hidden catche is have a will, and in it leave detailed directions on where your stuff is hidden. If you’re single with no family, then who cares, but if you have anyone you care about, leave them some instructions.

instead of a threaded cap for the surface opening - flexible qwik caps are half the $$$ and are quik to remove with only a SS draw band fastener to loosen >>>> wouldn't use it with a horizontal run pipe bury - instead I use a glued "test cap" which are super cheap and are removed by simply breaking out the cap center .....

being in the frozen north and possibly needing the cache in the winter - I only bury vertical - surface cap only covered by pea gravel and a patio block ....
