I know this has been tossed around other venues, but it bears looking at.

Do any of you that conceal carry have a membership in one on the programs that cover legal defense if you're involved in a SD event?

As a Life Member of the NRA since 1977... I went with the NRA Carry Guard option administered through Lockton Affinity.

It made sense to have access to a local 2nd Amendment Attorney should I be involved in a legal self defense shooting.

The Silver plan I signed up for costs me less than $260 a year...

When I retired from Law Enforcement I took out a NRA Retired Law Enforcement Officers insurance policy, also administered by Lockton Affinity. I figured since I no longer carried a government issued weapon and no longer acting under the color of Law, should I have to use my weapon, I would at least be covered and not on my own so to say. One of the nice things about working for the government is that even when off duty, you were covered so long as you were acting under the color of law.

For me, it's just a little piece of mind and money well spent!

It concerns me that they only cover 20% up front, and the rest is on you until you have been acquitted.

Or am I misunderstanding that?

Hey Curm, the way I look at it, is that it's certainly better than nothing! I think the policy that I have may be different in that it's for Law Enforcement only. However, given my not-so-friendly gun state of New Jersey, I'll take whatever legal help I can get!

I'd like to have some type of carry insurance, but it's not in the budget at the moment.

NO, I just call my Lawyer !...................

Well, I don't have a couple hundred thousand dollars laying around to cover all of the expense.

Well, the membership I'm looking at is pretty reasonable, IMO.

I have been debating this for a year or so, and the more I think about it, the more I think it's a good idea to have it.

Compared to several competitors, CCWsafe.com looks to me to give more coverage for less.

Do any of you know anything about this company?
