No longer is the tick-borne disease simply an issue for people living in New England, where it first appeared and is still prevalent. Yes, I don't doubt it has spread but I really do not like the way Washington Post story reported the numbers. Example: California had 483 people with positive test results — a 194.5 percent increase from 2015. California has millions of people and 483 tested positive. Unless there is some environmental barrier, all critters will expand their territories. Granted we don't have many sharks swimming around in our Arizona waters, that is a fine example of an environmental barrier. People are intruding into the realm of animals and ticks move with the animals and cross from critter to human and back again. Unless there is a massive die off of critters or humans, the spread will continue.

Regularly check yourself, you get tic off you within 36hrs you should be just fine besides less than 1% of tic bites will transfer the disease. For me it's more of nuisance.
