Luckily this storm was just a G1, being the lowest on the scale of 1-5. It is a little scary to be so vulnerable to these solar storms, but as I like to say, ‘prepare for the things you can and don’t worry about the rest’.

Whew good. Coz I still need some supplies if something like this happens. Wonder if this was the reason some of my tablet pages wouldn't open. If one has a Faraday cage.. do you put your stuff in it everyday . Or just at night. Seems like a pain.but was wondering what others thought. Is a safe good as a Faraday cage? Seems if a trash can could be a safe would too.

I’m in IT. The internet has run like crap a lot the past few days. Not CME related as far as I can tell.

Opinions on faraday cages vary widely. I’d look around here. Makes my head hurt.

What I put in a Faraday cage is electronics that I dont use everyday. Like an older smartphone, tablet or laptop that still works. Xtra pair of walkie talkies. An xtra radio, solor battery charger, rechargable batteries. Spare electronic auto parts. Spare electronic medical devices/equipment.
