this is one messed up state

A German Shepherd in Michigan received a letter last week confirming that he was approved for $360 every week in state unemployment benefits from a restaurant he was supposedly working at.

I'd like to get unemployment for my slacker mutt too. Since he's never actually worked a day in his life he should be eligible for maximum benefits. Government competency at it's best.

That raises questions.

If I had a poodle & it was denied benefits, would that be racist? Or if I had a female labrador who was denied, would that be sexist?

About 20 years ago we were offered $50k for one of our dogs (which 'we' turned down... the wife refused to sell him... sigh). I wonder if he would have been eligible? After all he had a working career before!
