I turn my phone off for tracking when I need don’t need directions. After 4 year here I don’t need much help.
2 cars safe from this crap.
The electric one is dependant on this, can’t turn it off.
Ok, my submission to anti electric car People. You will be tracked with an electric car. it’s not the range unless you own a Leaf.
You are driving a computer with a Tesla.

Bottom line, unless you're offline and living in the woods, they can pretty much track, listen-in, etc. on ya anytime they want to. At this point, I'm just too old to care. I mean, it isn't like I'm doing anything wrong or illegal enough to prick up any ears. All of that data is just fed into supercomputers, analyzed with software, and then, and only then, does even a fraction of it get listened to by actual people, so I can either be all paranoid about it, or just not care about it. I opt for the latter.

You're tracked in any new vehicle. There are over 42k pieces of telematics data accessible for modern vehicles, location just being some of them.

The flip side of it is that it can also be very useful. Heck, I can go into an app on my phone, unlock my car, see any kind of diagnostic info, etc. Hell, I can tell my car to unlock my front door, adjust the temperature in the house, record a tv show, etc. We can either use it, or bitch about it. It is what it is.

technology is just a tool - can be used for good or bad, depending on who is wielding it.

But returning to the OP topic, there was a recent report that the Feds are now buying up your GPS info from Google, Facebook, phone companies etc.

I have started carrying a faraday bag with me.

I have also looked into a jammer for my car, but online sales companies like Amazon have started purging them from their sites, and those sites that do carry them are too sketchy for me to consider
