When it is warm out and I have been out and about, working in the yard or doing something that causes me to sweat, particularly when my head and shirt get wet from sweat, I will likely take a spontaneous nap. Sometimes I will realize that I cannot keep my eyes open and lay down. I do much better going to sleep if have a cover on me.

I love naps. I nap almost every day after lunch during my work week. Usually about 20 minutes. During the weekend my wife is less than supportive of my napping. Even at home it is usually only a half hour. She is just jealous. If she naps it is hours and kinda ruins her day. I remind her I get up at 4:15 and she gets up whenever she feels like it.

When I was younger I could not take a nap.
Now I try to get one every day. Sometime I don't actually sleep but just laying down for a half hour helps.
Just laying down and 'resting' helps me a bunch.
Every now and then I can get a nap.
But if MIL walks by my door and hears me snoring, she yells: "YOU'RE NOT SLEEPING, AREYA'?".
Yes, this is the same person that we have to tiptoe and whisper until 11:am for so we don't interrupt her precious sleep
If I didn't sleep good the night before and HAVE to have a nap, I put a pillow over my head.

I am prone to nap after a nice supper, feet up in the recliner. Then I get up and to to bed :). if it's a really long nap, I get up and make coffee because its morning

Kids….. so no nap for this guy!! Haha
And kids will resist a nap! In daycare centers, children of certain ages are required by law to lay down and rest for X amount of time. Oh the resistance there! And some children are tired and crabby and need a nap desperately. I really never worked in daycare centers, but I do know that it is a challenge.

I will let these two gifts explain my feelings on the subject. (They were from the same person but at different times).

Getting up for work at 2:30 am and not going to bed until 9-9:30 pm, yes I do like to at least lay down for about 30minutes for a refresh. Some days I will sleep, some days I won't but it does catch up to me. Days I do not set an alarm, I can sleep 10 hours straight.

I hear a lot of people say "my cats sleep a lot", your cats must say "our human sleeps a lot, and in our recliner"!!😺

Holy cow Dani that is early. Are you a baker?

Or a Dairy Farmer. I love naps. It has come with age, but anymore I think I could sleep standing up. I can nap anywhere almost anytime. It has become a real blessing in many circumstances. Get a window seat on an airplane? I will be asleep before wheels are up. Have to sit through a painfully bad movie? Just doze off. I am always ready for a nap.

I'm weird because I can't nap in a chair, I HAVE to lay my head down!

I have turned napping into an art form. I can sit in most chairs and nap. I can sit in the recliner, upright or reclined and nap. I can sit in the car upright or reclined and nap. Prone is a lead pipe cinch. I am out like a light. Sometimes even napping I will be so sound asleep I will dream. When I wake up, I just think WOW, I must have been really tired and needed the rest.

I nap in my car during the week. I think I should sit in the passenger side. If I do it on the other side it feels like I am training myself to fall asleep behind the wheel.

I love my 2:00 power nap on the weekends but that didn’t happen yesterday.
being the nice guy I am I went on a car washing spree, cleaned up my Ram and the wife’s Durango inside and out, applied the ceramic polish on both and washed my daughters Jeep.

I've heard that guys who are night watch in the service often learn to sleep while standing up.

Movies: Ever since I left home, and first to college, then to working two jobs most of my life, I would always sleep during the few movies I went to. The lights would go off, movie start, and I would nod off. I guess it was one of the few times, other than bed time, that I was still. It is only in the last couple decades when I would go to matinees in movie theatres that I wouldn't go to sleep.

Makes my wife nuts, I am asleep 30 seconds after I hit the pillow. At work, I was always third shift or nights.
