Hello everyone.
On PS I went by Mike_. I go by SmugWaffle over there now. I deleted most of my posts over there though. Not out of malic. It's part of an effort I'm making to better anonymize myself in the eyes of Joe Public. I intend to keep that account active if "they" allow it.
I'd say I fall into "common sense" category of prepper. The kind of things that anyone can do, and everyone should do. Those daily micro-disasters, financial hardship, and common natural disasters. What attracted me to this group of people was the emphasis on self-reliance. I never could connect with the survivalist groups. It seems the major survivalist communities ostracize anyone that is isn't prepping for a permanent global collapse.
I don't have any hands-on homesteading experience. I've spent my life in the suburbs. I'm hoping the change that to a certain degree. I'd like to buy 5-10 acres of land to build a house and see what happens from there.
I am pretty handy around the house and cars. My friends and family call me IT, b/c I fix their computer problems. I treat DIY as an opportunity to learn new skills. So far I haven't started something I couldn't finish.
From a social stand-point, you can't offend me. You're entitled to your own opinion the same as you're entitled to be wrong . I have a motto that "everyone deserves decency, respect must be earned."
Well I've droned on long enough. See you all around the site.:green man:
