"Contaminated seafood from China is flooding the United States, are you safe?

Seafood laced with antibiotics is flooding the marketplace here in the U.S.

30 percent of the seafood Americans eat actually comes from China

livestock pens are scattered among the Chinese fisheries. To feed the fish, they simply wash the feces down a pipe that empties out into a pond, and the fish are taken care of..."

Duh...It's from China. They've been poisoning our dogs and kids for years. Simple solution, don't buy anything from China. Especially don't buy any Chinese food products.

Agree, if we know the country of origin unfortunately the country of origin labeling (COOL act) was repealed in 2013 so the food processing plants are no longer required to state what country food is coming from. :(

How can I be sure where my fish from the market is coming from??

Just make sure the food processors are proud enough to self label their products grown and processed in the USA. Keep in mind when they repealed the COOL act the Government allowed growers to ship the products overseas for processing then shipped back into the US and still can claim 'product of the USA' It's what they are doing now with some chickens, shipping to china for processing.

Also the chinese owns Smithfield foods (China’s Shuanghui International) Smithfield holds these brands Eckrich, Farmland Foods, Armour, Cooks, Gwaltney, John Morrell, Kretschmar, Curlys, Carando, Margherita and Healthy Ones.

Best advice, stay informed and if possible grow and raise your own!

I have to wonder...how on earth is it cheaper to fly or ship seafood all the way from China, than it is to get it from the shores of the US which are much closer? That just doesn't make ANY sense. It's like being in FL, and getting oranges from CA... Huh? Why?

They claim it is but I do wonder! Though Tyson foods denies earlier claims but I read this report so it does make one wonder and not much more news on the subject since 2016

I am safe,if I don't catch it I don't eat it...............................

Normally here too. Our BOL is on a small river that isn't effed up chemically.. I'll eat fish from it. The Tennessee River has very high mercury levels in a lot of places - especially downstream from mfg plants. Won't touch that fish.

Thinking about a pond at the BOL. Stocked with catfish.

I started stocking my pond last summer with bluegill and catfish. The creeks, rivers and lakes around me are full of trout. All are clean mountain streams and lakes. When the ice is out in a few weeks I'll resume stocking.
