So people in small farming communities talk. Lol.
Someone heard I was rebuilding this place, and called someone else who stopped by and told me...
That they will be tearing down an old wooden corn crib, and in the top is a 20 by 30 bin that was used for soybeans for years.
It's supposed to be really oily and polished, but the planks aren't tongue and groove. Supposedly the wood is a combination of trees from around their farm, cut by a local sawmill.

I'm gonna see if I can use the wood for the ceiling here. Or possibly the floor.

Sometimes rural folks are just nice. I don't even know the farm owners, they just heard I was looking. I'll have to figure out something I can do for them if the wood works out, maybe some welding or something.

I would be over there!

Went and looked today after work. The planks are 1 x from 10 to 14, but look nicely cut. One side smooth. And they are lap, which I'm fine with. Should be knocking some out this weekend. The wood has a terrific grain, I'm going to use it in the entryway, and the bathroom. There's some damage on one side so there isn't enough for the ceiling, but it's going to make some really nice walls and maybe a pantry.
