Anyone else noted that we appear to be now having once in a lifetime events about every other year, methinks many of us will need to adapt our preps a bit.

yeah.the weather has gotton weird on us..snow is rarely seen in this part of texas im in.and we had snow 3-5 winters ago.now it looks like we're gonna have snow this winter to me

We got a small storm over here in N.Ireland last night. And met Erin down south raised its warning level to the second highest level for torrental winds across teh country

Hi fox, I saw the news of all the damaged roofs, blown down chimneys and power cuts in Ulster and Eire you guys got hit quite hard as did my mates up in NW Scotland. We only got slight damage thank god. I note the Met Office is saying theres a good chance of another two storms before Crimbo !!!

You also have to consider though, the massive amount of news we can now receive. Things happened before, we simply didn't always hear about them on a daily basis. Not saying this is the sole reason...but it IS a big factor I think.

Ah yes but floods that are 8 weeks old and causing untold misery in Somerset to its ordinary people is not as important as a few puddles causing problems on the golf courses, boat houses and commuter stations for one day in the south east.

I note that wilst the wonderful west country folk have been working in union to help each other for 8 weeks with the govt only sending them 20 marines to help. But along the Thames in the south east the locals have been stealing their neighbours sand bags, anti looting patrols are needed, and of course being prime tory snob areas the entire army has now been deployed to keep the posh bits safe.

the army were sent into the Thames Valley on day one i notice whearas the villagers on the levels had to wait months waiting for a few squaddies to help out, i suppose the TV is conservative country where the levels will vote UKIP!! they will after this!
