Having some fun phishing a scammer. Person tried to catfish my wife posing as a music artist she likes. I created an account she could chat with the person on and be separate from anything of ours. After just a short bit I could see the catfishing pattern and my wife dropped off and is letting me phish to try to catch the creep. Will see how it goes. Hard to do anything if the person is in Nigeria though other than waste his time from trying to mess with someone else.

Tried to turn over the fun catching the creep to the FBI but they aren't interested until AFTER the crime. Well S&$! when you have the opportunity to STOP a crime you aren't interested. Stupid world this is.... Called a few other agencies, same thing. I guess I just screw with the creep a while for fun. Doubt anything will get done it seems.
Tell the person you have a "shipment" worth half a million dollars and see if they want in on helping to "move" it. That should produce an interesting conversation...
When I was working as a tech in computer labs and had a bunch of time on my hands I'd troll the scammers and get them to do ridiculous things. Posed as a minister for the "Church of the Bread and Wine" with tons of $ for charity. My favorite was getting them to send me a picture of them with a load of bread or bottle of wine balanced on their head to become a member of the congregation and qualify for grants.
I think someone reported the person that was catfishing and his gmail must have been killed. He started a new chat with a new email but zero contact on that one since yesterday so I figure that one was turned in too. The person he is posing as posted a twitter that many fans alerted him it was happening and it became evident from the responses that a ton of people have been targeted but this creep and his cohorts. I'm waiting as I am sure I'll get contacted again from another new gmail account in a day or so.
Now that's what I call a "dirty picture!"
