It has been almost a year since we had a dusting of the white stuff. That one was 3 years from the one before tht. North and central Texas have winter storm warning up for tomorrow. Possible 4-6" in west and north TX and they think we may get 2" here where I am! Being a yankee by heart an only Texan by marriage, I sure do miss a little snow now an again. I'll post pictures if we get any. I haven't experienced a 3-4" snow since the 70's when we lived in Galveston. Here's the dusting we got last February and the year before, to prove Texas really does get the occasional light snow this far south:

Started with a mix of sleet/rain at 6am. By 7am it was steady moderate snow, sometime huge flake, sometimes finer snow. But it has been snowing steadily. Will post a photo later today. We'll see how much accumulation we actually end up with. We were planning on going to the cabin this week, but mother nature and a global crisis has gotten in the way.

Wow, it has been snowing since 7am and pretty hard since lunchtime. Currently, the heavy, wet ginormous "flakes" have accumulated to about 1-1½", with no signs of letting up. If this goes on through tomorrow morning as they predicted, we may just get the possible 4" or more they were predicting. That would be more than I have seen anywhere I've lived in Texas to date in a total of over 50 years. When I can find a new photo-hosting site today, I'll try to post some of the pics I'm getting. Such an extra special happening in Texas.

Ahhh! So soft and lovely!! Thank you for sharing!!

The weather patterns are so strange, I wouldn’t doubt it if Antarctica has a heat wave and Panama has a blizzard. 🤪

I told Hunny that Central Texas was looking like it may be getting some snow today from what you had posted earlier. So he was showing me the weather map tonight of all the snow happening north of us. Down south its been raining most of the day and this evening at feeding time we were getting some sleet. . . makes for a miserable time outside. Cold and wet

Funny you should mention that, Jayson. As the snow today began to melt a bit, some looked yellow and thought of that phrase, LOL. But is was just yellow where the snow was resting on my liriope plants, so I think it was yellow from the plant leaves, or something else. I have probably 12 liriope plants out front and that would be an awful lot of public peeing going on. LOL

Well, late tonight my IMGUR account is opening up. Truly strange. Maybe they, like Parler and GAB, were just having major technical issues. It was out for hours and hours though. But I'm up and running there again. Here's the final snow before I knocked the excess off my young trees and vulnerable plants.

Beautiful, but that would be typical where you are. What my pics show is NOT typical in Central TX. Although we got snow once last year and this one this week, we haven't had any snow in probably 7 years or so where I live. I got used to it when my family lived in Michigan and Kansas. But so rare here it is very special when we do see any. :)It was probably 30 years ago when I saw snow of any amount (4-5" that time) as far as Galveston Island when we live there (33 years). Truly rare this far south.

we've gotten our share of the fluffy stuff as well.since early yesterday morning.power went out at 5:55pm yesterday evening.and it's still out.been using the stovetop and 4 candles to keep the place warm..this deffently proven that my winter preps ain't worth spit.i need to get a source of heat for time's like this.
