I have been thinking and planning for the possibility of "Hot" war that involves Alaska and America. I have been thinking about this for months, and in all that time, I never remembered the very rural farm my mother purchased in 1966 or maybe 67'. It was built by a wealthy steel and foundry company owner from Buffalo, New York in 1937-1938.
He had built and installed (3) Three ten thousand gallon steel fuel tanks and had them buried near the barn-shop building he had built. When my mother purchased the property some twenty years after the end of WW-II there was still near 30,000 gallons of gasoline in those tanks. The house he had built to ride out the coming war was well planned.
Strange I had not recently remembered this property. When you study WW-II one of the most interesting things, is how many people could vividly see it coming, and got the "hell' out of Europe. If you ever find a TV series called. "Foley's War" cheap at a garage sale, it is educational.
Foley's War - Bing
Foyle's War (TV Series 2002–2015) - IMDb
It is boring to watch, compared to current shoot'em up explosive action series. It has a recurring plot about his dealing with the ten's of thousands of "wealthy" Europeans who rode out the war in England's very rural countryside.
