I went to the Mother Earth News Fair in Belton TX this weekend. I've gone the past few years since it's come to central Texas, lots of interesting things every year.

Something has me thinking. OK, 2 years ago prepper vendors were everywhere, probably 20% of booths were selling knives/training/water collection/off-grid living/medical/etc. All were "Prepper" focused. Then last year we got Trump instead of Hillary. I'm not sure I saw a single prepper vendor. Not one. I heard that their sales had dropped off a cliff and they didn't think they'd sell a single item.

But this year, it was back to at least 10% of booths were prepper-focused. And I don't mean something loosely related, I mean booths that had PREPPER in foot-tall letters and they talked SHTF type discussions. And they were lined up, people buying stuff left and right.

So my question.... what changed?

Trump is still president. Maybe a year ago Hillary was written off, but now people fear the deep state? Republicans have shown how they won't support "the people"? I don't know... thoughts?

well, basically you got the same dudes and dudettes in power,it doesn't matter if the party has a donkey or an elephant, same ****,that turd in NK has nukes,Obamas friends in Teheran are on the move, don't forget China and India,Pakistan and India..so we have more flash points on this globe than before..
so alittle spark could be all that's needed..

Maybe the economy. Maybe the news. Maybe as simple as vendors needing to get back out there, get some sales, after a really bad year.

North Korea? I had a NoKo fit last summer when they were riding high, threatening every other day to nuke us all. There is no question in my mind that prepping has become big, as people lose faith that the U.S. can continue. Or maybe even modernity.

It's simple. While relieved that a non-deep state puppet was elected, it soon became clear that they at least got to him somewhat, and have some influence. So, it's edging back to caution.

Most of us aren't falling for these false flag ops disguised as kids losing it either....so we see the writing on the wall. No matter who is in the White House.

Buy your guns and ammo now, before the hike and the scarcity folks.

I'd recommend researching the BMDS or Ballistic Missile Defense System. This should put your mind somewhat at ease over the threat of a few nukes coming our way from the little dictator.

For anything else, it's a simple matter of distance. He simply doesn't have a WAY to get his weapons here...whether planes, subs, boats, tanks, etc. And any long method of travel would simply have such weapons as sitting targets and be turned into scrap metal before they even saw what hit them.

It's not an "oh, we're so great" thing, it's a simple matter of how much we spend each year on defense, how far reaching we are (bases everywhere), and how we can mobilize, carrier fleets, long range bombers, fighters from all over air bases, etc.
