I have not found a doctor that gives extra medications.
Insurance didnt cover the extra. Not sure how oldsters work around that without skipping doses to bill the supply.
They can pay out of pocket with a discount card (GoodRX, Singlecare). Sometimes insurance will give an extra 30 to 90 day supply when you're going on vacation or lost/damaged your med.

Senior Prepping..... I'm going to say this is an entirely appropriate subject given what I suspect the bulk of the age range of the forum is....

I also am one that would qualify as a ..geezer... fill in the blank.. Unfortunately since my medical issues just a year ago now, I am recovered enough but reduced to living in a senior apartment here at the ...wrinkle ranch...

VERY deep blush.. Of all my life adventures I never expected to end up like this... But I look around and see others in a lot worse shape health, and many other ways than I... It is what it is this moment... However.. I can, will make the best of it with what I have to work with.. So.. As I get settled here, while I have good weather, I am slowly ..prepping.. the best I can, first, for winter then what ever comes along.. I'm making multiple smaller purchases that are more easily handled with my little 4 wheel folding grocery tote.. For instance.. I have a thrift store big Coleman table top battery camp lantern for power outages and a couple of quality flashlights with extra batteries to keep from breaking my neck or a hip.. I have room for 2 big bundles of TP, a couple cases of bottled water that hopefully will last the bulk of winter.. I keep the freezer and fridg stocked.. I will soon have a small propane or butane single burner camp stove as I must have morning coffee.. The big grocery will deliver if the need arises due to weather supposedly at no extra cost.. You would not believe the number of able bodied people who call 911 every winter for bread and milk..

So that is a bit of insight into my very humbling life as it is this moment..

Other ideas, experiences, thoughts, strategies ??

I have found the butane stoves to be an excellent choice. Small, inexpensive, very easy to use. IMHO a good choice for apartment living.

Extra blankets, socks, scarves, a stocking hat or two all good and inexpensive investments for power outages.
