Question about airborne virus

I am looking for protection from an airborne virus.
Can these two masks work with a papr? If so, what should I buy to be compatible with the face masks?

You have to pay careful attention to the filters. Absolute minimum would be a P100 rated filter, but that might not be enough for Ebola.

The Ebola Virus is a rare type of virus called a "filovirus" meaning it is in the shape of a filament. It has a diameter of 80 nm but a length greater than 900 nm. Marburg is the only other common filovirus.

Conceivably, an Ebola Virus could penetrate a filter that did not filter particles below 100 nm. I suspect this is how the nurse in Dallas got infected - right through the mask. When USAMRIID works with Ebola viruses, they wear a space suit with an air hose, because they consider Ebola too dangerous to work with using just filters.

Guys please remember that generally many airborne pathogens can also often be absorbed through the skin, get into you from eating food that is in contact with the pathogen, through hand to mouth / eye / contact as well as inhaled. So if you are talking about functioning in such and environment consider full protection not just a mask. But if you are a tightwad at the very least make it mask / goggles/ rubber gloves and and aerosol of disinfectant.

I'll bet your onto something there. (and the hospital and CDC know it, but don't want to advertise how). Makes them look even worse. (and opens them up to a lawsuit, of course).

just read really careful what your filters do and what they filtrate...right now the cheapest alternative might not be the "best one"..in case this gets bad a bunny-suit is better than nothing if you have a good mask,gloves and goggles

Sundstrom has a "Pandemic Flu" filter and mask kit. This has a SR100 half mask (without face shield), but you can get either a Tyvekk hood that works with the mask, or use the filters from the kit with a full face shield (Sundstrom SR200 mask)

The Sundstom kit combines a P100 filter with "Prefilters". The Sundstrom cartridges are designed so that you can piggyback them. You can use two P100 filters back to back if you wanted to, or combine a P100 filter with a chemical filter.

who's about this one?we've had a pair of them for i don't know how long..and not sure if they're still worth keeping and using,or not..

P.S. i forgot to mention..the filter has been kept separate from the mask..and the caps are on and in place where needed when it comes to the mask and filter alike..

if the rubber is soft and no leaks you can find, only thing I would change is the filter...
take the filter away,put the mask on you,place your hand where the filter is supposed to be,try breathing, if you can't,then it's atleast ok to go..it "seals" your face ok,if you can breathe despite that you covered the hole with your hand,it has a leak some where

Ref the Mask if the rubber is still supple and the fact seals still intact and not mouldy, cracked out or dried out, and providing the exhale valve is working and the lens seals are fine then the mask is OK. BUT the Canisters are fit only for the bin, Replacement NBC filter canisters of all types should be still in sealed vac foil packs as the absorbent materials inside will have been slowly rendered inert or even useless after long term exposure to the air.

but as he said,those old canisters are not so usable,perhaps as a paper weight
