Today I rendered 3 gallons & 1 pint of lard. I realize that there are multiple ways of rendering and storeage. My favorite is to grind the fat first to make melting faster then to use the oven method of 290 F because even though I needed to stay relatively close to stir every 15-20 minutes, I still felt comfortable to work on my quilting. Once rendered I strain thru cheesecloth and then again into jars. Just put lids on and let sit to cool. Once solid, they will go into my stock room.

My curiosity made me wonder how others do it? It took me about 7 hours to complete. Is there a better faster way?
