RIP Gary Rossington. His health had been failing over the last couple years, to the point that Skynyrd brought in another guitar player to play most of his parts. Rossington would sit on a stool and play for a few songs during the show.

I expect Skynyrd will finish out this tour with the new guy taking on all of Gary's parts. He, himself had said that the current version of Skynyrd was a tribute band at this point. From what I understand, the original singer's widow controls the band from a business standpoint, and I'm sure she wants to keep the money rolling in...

This song is probably my all-time favorite Skynyrd tune... and the video has been watched 262M times, which should tell y'all something, lol. Nice country scenery in the video too, almost like it was made for this website!

Simple Man

For some reason, this laptop won't let me post actual videos, I gotta use the link... dunno why.

Gotta love the quote by Arthur Schopenhauer in the beginning of the video... Schopenhauer was the man! 😬

I saw that too. Skynard has been my favorite band since the 70s. Sad to see them all gone now
1977 was a good year to be alive. I was.:D
Notice the reaction of the crowd and at the very end, how huge it is.
Ever seen anything close to that in the last 2 decades, no :(.
*Sensitive people should ignore the giant confederate flag that is the backdrop for their stage:rolleyes:.

They were one of my favorite bands. I saw them several times, and always enjoyed every concert. As long as there is demand, and they are still filling venues, why would they stop? Our generation still loves their music.

I just saw Three Dog Night last Friday, and they only have one surviving original member, who is 80. Still a great show and great memories. God Rest His Soul, and prayers to all his friends and family.

Wow, what a coincidence! I have been listening to Three Dog Night for many nights in a row now. I lay down in bed, put on my headphones, and instruct my phone app to repeat Shambala, Joy to the World, Celebrate, and Black and White over and over until I fall asleep.

My favorite was always Eli's Coming. My wife's favorite was Joy to the World. They have a large enough body of work so the entire concert was their music. Really a lot of fun.

Simple man is my favorite Skynard song.

That is like asking which child you love the most. I loved Simple Man, but I think I have to go with Sweet Home Alabama, with Free Bird being a close second.

Have to admit that this is a great song. I can never see it come up without wanting to listen to it, like right now.

I like Lenard Skynard, but they were first around when I was too busy too be too aware of them, working two and three jobs. I was also in Kansas City, mostly listening to jazz. Only so much time and I was out of the loop of lots of music, because of life demands. I know I have always liked their music.
