Trouble is Mav cannot ride a horsey for a year at least.

I prefer Donkeys or maybe a small pony, horses can be too highly strung, I wont be riding them but using them as a pack animal.

7k is a lot for a toy. Any idea on range between chargings?

One improvement I could see on it would be a set of real pedals. It is probably fairly heavy but being able to prolong the range by pedaling on level or downhill ground would help.

Yup 50 to 70 miles at 30MPH with a total weight up to 400 pounds including rider. It also can carry a spare battery power pack to double range.
