Do any of you guys use or get the free samples by mail. I request allot of them and pack them in our just in case bug out bag since they are tiny they don't take up much space. Feminine hygiene offer allot of free samples and I have even gotten a small first aid kit and flash light before! Just wondering if anyone else used this.

I use a few different sites mostly totally free stuff and a few mom blogs and natural medicine blogs I am a part of. Also I go to local free expos they are always giving away free stuff. I won a free 2 man tent once that I keep under the back seat of my car.

some new great samples have come out lately that I have stocked up on free toothbrush's today lol I use http://www.couponclipinista.com/

in the last month I have won/or received 27 razor samples from different companies.
I got a coupon for a free full sized bottle of Advil which I put in the BOB first aid kit.
if you watch the web site too it will tell you how to coupon and get things like free toothpaste ( i have like 15 boxes in the bathroom now)

Really, walmart sends free samples? I'm all for free...as long as I don't have to spend 20hrs a week to get it...my time is at a premium during the spring/summer/fall months!

lol no I usually spend about an hour a day on filling out freebie and instant win games but i have won some great stuff and get lots of coupons and the money I save with coupons can go to stockpiling the more expensive things we need. Just with couponing alone these are my latest wall-greens and Kroger savings.

Today on coupon clipinista there are free coffee samples you can get 2 6 pack samples of instant coffee per household! If you are like me you end up sending them to a friend or family member's address as well. And never be afraid to email a company about coupons, I contacted 7th generation when we had a tight budget and they sent me coupons for free diapers, wipes, and laundry detergent. In our house any type of savings helps.

Your free little shampoo samples would be great to add to your bug out bag.

yeah i get the free shampoos all the time and i send them to my mom's too (who is not a prepper) so i kinda double sample. I get all sorts of things, i like the health ones especially like I got a free sample box of Emergen-C that went into the BOBs last week. after i posted that i got a promo code for a free domino's pizza in my email from something i had done so we had free dinner too lol

Samples and freebies are priceless.

We went to a fair/fete type deal and a local energy company was there giving out small cooler bags. Having 3 kids, they all got one. I was a little surprised when we got home and the kids didnt want them. After having a look i can understand why. It had:
  • A first aid kit
  • first aid booklet
  • Safety glasses
  • wind up, battery-less torch
Plus a whole bunch of household type things. power outlets blank plugs, power lead safety connector etc. As you can imagine, all the first aid supplies went straight into my first aid kit. and the torches went in to our BOB's.

Never underestimate the value of freebies.

I really like freebies but the work that mclaurin does for freebies wouldn't work for me. I suppose during my commute I could try those things but normally those times are my decompress times and time to prepare for evening chores/work in the garden...to me working outside in my garden gives me great value...food for my table (now and this winter), physical activity for my longevity and knowledge for the future.

Great idea for getting samples! I'm going to start doing that since I'm a tight budget and just starting out. (Need lots of stuff for my bug out bag.)
Don't know if you know this (not to promote my least favorite place but I do work there so I know) but Walmart will ad match any competitor store INCLUDING buy one get one free deals. They might ask for an ad though but if you get ads for a store not near you and it's a great deal, you can get those items at Walmart for that price. A lot of people save A LOT doing this in conjunction with coupons. There may be other stores that do this but I can only say for sure Walmart will since I work there.
I have also done it a few times where if you write your favorite companies they will give you awesome coupons, sometimes for free stuff. I had a customer tell me about this and tried it with a few of the companies I like to buy stuff from. I once got six free greek yogurts from Dannon because I told them I liked their yogurt. They sent me six free coupons, for example.

Couponing here in Aus is pretty much non existent. It would be great if we could though.

All the coupons we have here have a "one coupon, per person, per day" condition on them. Sucks.

Yeah, I did a web search and found a lot of sights for free samples, but none really are of any interest. Definitely not huge like in the US.

There are a few FB pages my wife follows that do the free sample thing. Im yet to come across anything worth keeping though

Freebie dump for this week to the left is the freebies i revived by mail and to the right are my coupon freebies. nothing in this image cost me a dime
