Santa Barbara Stabbing/shooting

Ok I am posing a question to all.

I have seen dozens of news pieces on the whack job who stabbed 3 people then shot 3 others up in Santa Barbara, CA.

I have yet to see a headline that accurately depicts what took place. that being 3 stabbed 3 shot. Instead the media is bent on putting their liberal anti-gun slant to this. Every headline I saw only mentioned it as a "mass" shooting. While I agree one person shot is one too many, the media, though we know they wont, should be honest about things.

Of course now the government is in full swing here in Kalifornia trying to come up with new gun laws. Maybe since three of the victims were stabbed the government should also look at putting the same restrictions that guns have on knives.

I also feel at time that this country should do what I hear canada does (Those on here from Canada please correct me if I am wrong). I hear that Candaian press does not print the killers name, as they do not want them to become famous. I personally think this would be a good idea as I think the media spends so much time on the perp that they end up planting seeds in the week minds of potential future killers as they now know they may become famous if they carry out their sick twisted acts of violence.

Yea, even Christopher's dad was blaming the NRA and politicians. . . “When will this insanity stop? When will enough people say stop this madness, we don’t have to live like this? Too many have died. We should say to ourselves — not one more.” I agree with Chris' dads statements , but not what he was meaning. When will American wake up and realize that if they educate themselves on guns, to shoot, and could open carry and defend themselves then maybe so many nut heads would not have the opportunity to have a "mass shooting" or "massacre" . Yes, Americans need to wake up. .

Reminds me of a joke advertisement on one of GTA V's radio stations: "Vote yes for proposition 37: Mandatory open carry for everyone."

There's folks on my gun forum getting all up in arms over this too; one member had to call his local news to correct their ticker tape which kept saying "Six shot and killed."

Heh, up in arms... Bad pun, it's been a long week you guys .

And I like that point about the knives too. Reminds me of a scene from one of my favorite comics. Superman is contemplating taking an extremely active role in the world and wants to take all guns from everyone. Worldwide disarmament. He's playing chess with Barry Allan (the Flash, and the only man on Earth who can think as fast as Superman) says "Ok, I see your point. They can't be trusted with guns. What about cigarettes?" Superman can't really argue, so Barry continued with an auto fatality statistic and says "Ok, so tomorrow guns and cigarettes. Then cars. Then we need to watch their diets. First the guns. Then cigarettes, cars, and junk food." He checkmates Superman upon making this statement.

People will be people no matter what. I read about (I believe) Taiwan, which has zero-tolerance gun laws and since the government controls all commerce into the island, no guns make it. Their last two presidents suffered assassination attempts perpetrated with homemade firearms.

If someone wants to kill someone, they can do it with a stick, a rock, or their bare hands. Now I'm not in favor of people owning automatics or explosives or anything crazy like that but taking away weapons will not curb violence. That's like taking a drummers drumsticks away and saying "Good, now he can't keep a beat."

I agree these people should not receive any fame, their families should not get any royalties from any manifestos or money agreed for personal interviews from National TV networks. To me anyone that survives such events, should immediately be expedited through the court system, receive no leniency, nor any possibility for judicial review that would slow down the process of expediting justice (which in my belief, should be similar to Saudi Law...by hanging) I know the damn liberals would have a field day with me, but I've seen justice carried out there and it pretty much quells the stupidity of a copy cat example.

A shame that the innocent are not remembered for their deeds, but a sicko gets his fame.

I like the views of Thomas Jefferson on punishment for a capital crime.

Whosoever shall commit murder in any other way shall suffer death by hanging.… Whenever sentence of death shall have been pronounced against any person for treason or murder, execution shall be done on the next day

Justice should be done, seen to be done, and prompt.

Current systems normally do none of the above.

well,guys,you should see what our courtsystem does to punish wrongdoers here, you get life,it's about 12-13 years,yep that's the "life" here,next fall a double murderer will be released 'cause of good behaviour and serving 11 years behind bars, it's stupidity,stealing money here gives you harder penalties than taking someones life is the trend,and our prisons then? they have gyms,you have radios,tvs, comfy cells with drapes and nice beds,free medical (all incl.) you get out to the excersieyard everyday and if you behave you get weekend permissions from jail,they are better treated in jail than in a retirmenthome for elderly.
if you speak for harsher punishment you get labeld in so many words ,'cause you have to understand them, enough said I have to stop now 'cause my bloodpressure is hitting the celing once again
