What? I see it on CNN, NBC, etc. All over it now.

Hate to say I told you so, but.......at least once a month.

Oddly, very few sites say anything about the shooter at all. Though I did find one identifying him as a 15 yr old male.

Some more odd news....these seem to only HIT the mainstream media when there are deaths involved (to fit the agenda). Earlier this month, a 32 yr old guy opened fire in a school bus, and somehow managed to kill nobody, yet hardly a blip about THAT anywhere.

That was a pretty big earthquake!

Yeah, but....Alaska. Kodiak.... Having lived there....not much to take out...lol. I heard the Captain's Keg pizza place closed years ago, so really the only thing worth noting there....hehe.

Gotta take this discussion off track... Gazrok, WHO did you tick off to get assigned to Kodiak, Alaska? Before you answer keep in mind that 'by choice' makes it look even worse... and better answer would be "dad got assigned there" (passing the buck!). Best answer: young/stupid & chasing a girl. So consider these guidances. But Kodiak Alaska? Ugh... (just having fun)

OK, back on topic. I heard somewhere this kid's' dad was a cop & it was his father's gun... or maybe that was a shooting here in Texas a few years ago (getting stories confused in my mind)?

But my first questions, as with all of these mass killings by kids/under 30:
1) muslim related? (I don't think so in this case)
2) What mind-altering drugs was the kid on and for how many years?

Or will we ever find out?

Well, it was my dad...hehe. I was only in 3rd and 4th grade at the time. He was in the Coast Guard, stationed in Kodiak, so we lived in the compound, right in the shadow of Mount Barometer.

Well, my old conspiracy/alt news site cracked it (I think), the shooter's name is likely Gabe Parker. Bullied band geek, and apparently, his dad died the night before, and he was being bullied online, etc. (he posted a video where he was crying, so got teased). Apparently, there was a previous incident with a knife, etc.

If you ever saw X-Files, the folks on this site make the Lone Gunman look stupid....lol. (as long as you can separate the wheat from the chaff, that is)....

I'm with ya though, I'm betting some mental drugs are involved here. I'm thinking he got hold of dad's gun after the death.

Never been to this site before, but they list the same.

I'm not so sure about drugs now. In fact I doubt it. The kid's dad just died. You don't need drugs for that to make you go nuts. Add that kids were mocking/bullying him on top of losing a parent, and it makes sense.

I'm not justifying any of this, but I don't know what would be more traumatic to a teenager than losing a parent.

I'll look at these other kids. A fellow's father dies, and they mock him? I don't know when his father died, but it seems to imply recently (days?). When I was a kid we had friends who's parents did a murder/suicide (mom divorcing dad, he couldn't take it... killed her then himself). Wow, there was zero room for mocking back then. Not a second thought, not in the top 1000 thoughts. But if this is the empathy that kids today have, imagine what happens in 20 years when they're the mainstream of the workforce? In 30 years when they are 'leaders', and 40 years when they run everything? Yikes.

This changes everything. Mercy and prayers to the family of all involved.

Hey Tex, Kodiak island is a nice place. Great hunting and fishing. I spent a couple months in Texas once (seemed much longer) and prefer just about anywhere in Alaska far better. Texas, ugh....

Supposedly, dad died the day before....but letter from his stepsister said he was abused by dad, so if true, would have played into it.

Apparently not the first time though, a knife incident in 2016....so mental illness and meds could certainly still be a factor here.

Problem with kids today, they grew up in this social disconnect, where they could react without filters, and never have to deal with the close up ramifications of their comments and actions online. they can even do so anonymously. Now, us thicker-skinned parents had to deal with this crap in our faces, so we're a bit tougher.... Today's tender little snowflakes though, will let stupid crap that may have ruined our day, ruin their entire week.

Once a month? Earlier on the 'news' they said there have been about 10 school shootings so far this month. Or one every 3 days?

I said I'd expect there to be a mass shooting event once a month.

To define, I mean a situation where a gunman (or more) just start taking folks out, more or less randomly, injuring or killing more than just a few people.

The school shooting where one person shot the other two of a love triangle....not applicable here.
