I found this bit of information and found it very informative. I thought that this would work simply because of the UV rays but I never hear anything about it before now (maybe I just need to get out of my bubble more).
I also saw that you could use the Food Saver bag and make a long tube full of water to purify a bunch of water at one time (you would just have to be careful with the handling of the bag when it's full of water).
