wow....just wow....look at number of people on ss...look at the age bracket he wants to go after....i think they should put boots on the ground to banks these checks are deposited into and go see who is doing transactions from that account. I bet theres some older adult children just collecting...and i bet some bankers are just withdrawing funds themselves....sorry to say it...there was a story awhile ago about a older son in 60's or something been collecting his moms check for years and years.

another thought...nursing homes and hospitals still collecting checks that were doing long term care on some.

The data shows that 20.789 million Americans are collecting social security benefits over the age of 100. Drilling down into the age buckets, benefits are still being paid out to folks over 140!

What's not said is how many are collecting benefits. It's just what they show for the population.
My guess is they aren't distributing benefits to many of the 100+ age range, they just don't have a record of their death.

Collins is far too conservative. Lawmakers should freeze payments over the age bucket of 100 until a clear determination can be made where taxpayer funds are disappearing in this possible money pit that smells like fraud.

"If DOGE's numbers are right, $522B—1/3 of ALL spending on Social Security each year—is fraudulent," X user Robert Sterling said.

This doesn't include the potential fraud from fake beneficiaries below age 100 (e.g., people in their 70s/80s/90s). By my math and adjusting for a normalized age distribution, this could bring the total amount of fraud to $793B per year.

At a DOGE press conference last week in the White House, Musk said:

"If money is spent badly. If your taxpayer dollars are not spent in a sensible and frugal manner, then that's not okay. Your tax dollars need to be spent wisely on the things that matter to the people," Musk said.
"It's just common sense. It's not Draconian or radical. I think it's really just saying let's look at each of the expenditures and say, is this actually in the best interest of the people, and if it is, it's approved, if it's not, we should think about it," he added.
"There's crazy things, like, just a cursory examination of Social Security and we've got people in there that are about 150 years old," Musk said. "Now, do you know anyone that's 150? I don't. OK. They should be on the Guinness Book of World Records, they're missing out."

It now appears DOGE's Big Balls has been heard at work using AI to uncover possible fraud in federal entitlements. So far, we have not verified the data Musk shared on X, but confirmation could be just ahead.

I can’t wait for the defenders to mansplain how this proves I know nothing about databases.

20,786,893 citizens over 100yrs of age? 6.1% of our population? 1 in 20 people? I've never met anyone over 100yrs of age. I know they exist... but not in these numbers. Somebody needs to go to jail. The Inspector General's over the last 40 years perhaps? Not one noticed we have 9million SS recipients over 130yrs of age?

I'm still asking. Their records show people by age but it doesn't say how many are receiving benefits. It shows 38 million kids under the age of 10 on the SSA census. Just because they're counted doesn't mean they're getting SSA benefits.

Are they just missing death certificates for all those old people so they can take them off the books?

i am not going to post links theres just to many stories to do so....use a search engine you like and search adult children keep getting senior parents ss checks or some such statement...theres tons of stories...some got checks 10 years after death and one was 26 years i think it was.....anyway...you can find stories.

Not exactly... death status set to false... In my example 20million+ over 100yrs of age are then eligible for a wide range of benefits including SSA... and uses, like voter roles and monies allocated to the states by population.

I'd like to see this broken down by states... which states are benefiting or which political party. Maybe this is how sleepy joe got 81million votes.

My point being... we don't know all the uses for this information... but I am sure if there was a way for a politician to benefit or someone to pocket gov cash they are doing so!!!

When mom passed last April, I went to make her funeral arrangements at the mortuary, and of course there was alot of paperwork. Two days later I went to the SS office to see if I needed to do anything before her death certificates came in (2 weeks) and they said the mortuary notifies them immediately, they already knew.

Dept of Education. $269 BILLION budget, which ensured none of our student can read, write, or do math. 40th out of 40 worldwide!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if Social Security has any such requirement? Several times a year we hear of a story where a dead person was found wrapped up in a blanket in the closet or frozen in a freezer and their "loved one" was living off the Social Security checks. Surely the government would want verification on a regular basis, right?

Nope. It wasn't that way in my case. Six months before my 64th birthday I got online with SS and applied. We don't need to certify to SS that we're still alive. I think when we die the mortuary contacts SS automatically with our death certificate.

I have known several people that were nowhere near retirement age, not disabled in any way, that always 'got a check' from SS.
