heck Brent, could be, with this much sleep deprivation my mind don't work like it should..
If I remember right the other post had a video of a snowy place and they were using it for a heater more than a cook stove. It was the same basic idea though. The snow was what Mede me think it could have been your post.

yup, and the place is short on staff ...double shifts..and when I busted my knee slightly, the pain wakes me up...right now I can't sleep without sleeping pills, only mild ones at the moment..
Sorry to hear about the knee. Working long shifts definitely don’t help with recovery. I loved the medical field but hated the 12hr stuff.

this place is bleeding right now...management doesn't have a clue to keep people here, I've lost 6 colleagues within a year to other places and no alarm bells for that, temps are
far and few in between ,if the head nurse finds one, it's gone that far ...
I put in a job application to a ferry company too....I love this job,but when you can't do the way it should,it eats your soul..

My wife was a nurse and told me stories of going in to work and having 100+ patients by herself on a shift. That literally gives seconds for each individual. Impossible. Most places are profit driven only and never have the proper staff to begin with but when some quit or get sick it really gets bad. I own a small business so understand the need
To be profitable but I also understand being able to do the job right too.

Or when half your staff wants to be off for the week of Christmas but you still have close to the same amount of work. You know if you tell them they can't be off they still won't show up. I want to fire those people but then I'll just be down that many people permanently. I can hire more but they'll be the same way.
Anyway,
this log stove looks like an interesting idea. I don't know how easy it would be to build in a pinch because it takes a log that's pretty big around.

Good point. The log needs a flat bottom and top. Most people would have a machete or campers axe when out in the woods but very few would have a bow or crosscut saw with them. I bought about five bow saws a couple years ago with extra blades for each that live in my pole barn for long term emergencies. I’ve never carried them with when camping or hiking though. These are tubular steel and are light enough but a bit bulky to carry. That settles it, I’m bugging in....
