Okay, I have a spot where the electric line went doen and made an opening in my softest.

Now I have squirrels living there. I have set traps and caught zero squirrels. Any other ideas.

It sounds like a scene from the Exorcist.
What are you using for bait? I use peanut butter with good success on the chipmunks. I also use a sweet food bait that I normally use for trapping 'coon.

They must really be driving you mad! LOL

In your other thread I said I used hardware cloth.
I've had a war with squirrels ever since we bought this house. I've tried everything...traps, poison, shooting them with air rifles, electronic pest repellers, you name it. One squirrel even got into the house somehow and jumped on me! They chewed through the gable vents, chewed holes in the soffit, etc.

I ended up having to use hardware cloth everywhere they were trying to get in.

When the electric conduit tilted because of a limb across the line, it opened a hole and they just took it from there.

Husband wouldn't get it fixed and the line kept sagging more and it pulled the siding and wood away from the frame. I finally got the electric part fixed, but the wood had rotted so we just pulled it off. Now the squirrels have their own apartment. I have to get them out prior to replacing the wood and vinyl.

I have two traps now and I'm baiting with peanut butter

That's a bounty for the stew pot. Love squirrel.

That is not good at all. they will reek havoc with your wiring and can cause a fire. Maybe they are busy getting ready for winter. You might try another type of nut, perhaps hickory. Squirrels love those. Good luck.

This is DR. Henley post. I mucked it up trying to merge it over and just copied it.

I'm afraid to use any pesticides because of bees and chickens.

Oh ... my... word! If a squirrel had jumped on me in my own house..you would have seen me on the news! I would have lost my mind... and my religion too! I can’t even imagine.

we have them around here but they stay in the woods and don't come into the garden, we had a war back along with rats coming after the bird food but we managed to poison them all, we are currently rat free.

haven't seen any, they pass through now again but not for a couple of weeks, I don't mind the odd one or even 2 but when they bring the babies AND the teenagers its a bit much. like I say not for awhile.

They have already eaten my satellite wiring and my solar motion detector lights.
You'd think they would electrocute themselves. Then fried squirrel for supper. I think I would go hunting. I don't like killing animals, but would if I had a legitimate reason to do it, then yeah. I killed a snake for eating eggs, and a duck for killing baby ducks, a water snake to keep my dogs from getting bit while wading, a stray dog(terrible experience, I won't repeat). I killed a cat for biting my father, it was just plain mean and unpredictable and was pushed on me by a sister, someone had left it at a neighborhood house when they moved. When it bit Dad and I mean it really bit hard and hurt him, that was it. Pet the cat, take to the woods, it is purring, shot to the back of the head. Done deal.
