Lars at Survival Russia youtube made a video about how he cans up meat.the things of interest to me and i think to others is he is using the jars that use a metal lid without a ring. i have seen it used in several countries in Europe. The canner is of interest as well.Only once have i canned in metal cans and we used a similar device to "seal/crimp" the lids on before canning.Canning meat is a survival skill for sure.

what i find interesting is the lid system they use in the east..across the big pond in many places.

Wow!, 120C it hot (248F) ! and He canned it at 20 PSI! So they can things hotter and under higher pressure than we do in the West! Cool system they use, he also said it has a shelf life of 5 years which is awesome...

Regular pressure canned meat has a shelf life much longer then 5 years. I am using meat from 2012 and you wouldn't know the difference between then and this year.
