I always have a good look at what rubbish has been accumulated at the local industrial estate on a sunday and see what "resources" I can acquire.:p
That sounds like fun. I used to love going to garage sales, but live out in the country now so they are few and far between.

I'm still deciding if I'm going to do anything productive today..... Managed to get the ham sliced and bagged, fed the animals, and cleaned the kitchen. I think I'm hanging out by the wood stove for a while still as its in the 30's outside.

I got all I needed done earlier, The weather is a bit pants so I'm settled indoors. Sometimes a snow day without the snow is called for.

Slowing down is a little hard for me. I've always been absorbed and involved in too many things. Even at 53, my body is telling me to though.

i go to "car boot sales"(a sort of open air market) during the spring, summer and autumn, but because their on grass mostly there aren't many in the winter.

There is an indoor flea market in Pendergrass Ga. It's a little bit of a hike from here but sounds like fun. It advertises that it's the largest indoor market in the South East.

in the summer we can travel anything up to 100 miles away for a car boot sale...into the next county, local ones are okay for plants but anything else we need to go further afield, its okay its a day out.

Sunday mornings fot us begin with Recce time for me if its dry so i can mooch around my area to see what useful infor I can garner, then its normally followed by POLT time on the vehicles.

Sundays are generally our homemade corned beef hash then baked with extra sharp cheddar cheese over it, eggs and large home smoked sausage links with sauteed (olive oil/butter/garlic) mushrooms and onions with skinned tomato halves. That's generally our Sunday breakfast.
Anything with smoked sausage sounds like a good weekend tradition.

Smoked sausage does sound good. I'm craving porridge most mornings, with a good spoonful of brown sugar. Hits the spot when it's nippy out.

I've heard the name 'porridge' my whole life but have never really been sure what it was. I'm picturing something like oatmeal?

I'd say that if you really feel that way about what your doing for work then I would start looking for something else. Life is too short to dread going to work every day!

I agree. And would feel kind of bad about it but I am sure I am not the only one in the US that feels that way. And at my age I only have 2 more years to retire. But and yes there is a but, I do not have to work on Sunday which I never liked doing and thats good.

You're quite right, it's something like oatmeal, but, in my opinion a whole lot better. It's made with rolled oats instead of pinhead or steelcut oats, which makes a smoother and creamier end result. I make mine with milk (1 part oats to 3 parts milk or milk and water) then finish off with brown sugar or honey. It's like a big hug in a bowl.

You definately make it sound good. I may try some oats for breakfast this morning as its my closest equivalent.

Maybe when you retire you can find something that you really are interested in as a part time thing.
