We plan to use killing cones when we butcher our chickens. They look like a funnel that you put the chicken in with the head sticking out the end of the cone. Just hang it upside down and a small slit with a sharp knife and the chicken bleeds out. No flopping around.

Said they had to feed it with a (medicine dropper?) since he didn't have a mouth . Doesn't seems like much of a life does it.

Better to bleed it out, wringing the neck slows or stops the bleed out, but I like Arcticdude solution using the killing cone.

My aunt would pick one up, wrong it's neck and never drop her cigarette. They would just flop around. Scared us kids to death.

I have actually shot 2 of mine with a .22 who were really sick. Luckily, they didn' flop around. Too sick i guess.

I think if I had to, I would chop off their heads before wringing their neck.

This particular avian was not so lucky. The student has been charged with animal cruelty.
