Damned scary in my opinion. I’m glad they are seeing the need for cash access for the masses finally. A wholly electronic system gives way too much power to the government and is too vulnerable to fraud and disaster. I really hope I never see the day when a small business doesn’t accept cash here.

I agree. If a society goes cashless, it seems to me that it will be easier for the government to ruin the economy by 'printing' money as needed (quantitative easing) without the inconvienence of physically printing the bills...especially since there's no gold standard.

Things could become like Zimbabwe, when a beer cost two trillion dollars.
