It has been mentioned before about a thread that involves the subject "What can you bring to the table?" After a bit of "ruminating" on the ideer I thought we might change things up a bit. I would like to invite the MODs to decide who would like to go first in "Setting the Table". For Example, S18 who lives way over yonder(to me that is) Tell us how he will set up the location for the interview and how he will handle the unfriendly responses. Now don't tell us about your Table talk BOL or what you are looking for totally . You need help and it is up to you to set the stage for the first approaching "applicant". Next we need a willing volunteer for example ME . I will describe my future self as I approach the interview location, Equipment, what I see as I find this hopefully promising location. The short rules are like this the Mods can tweek as they see fit...S18 will start first doing basically as I described in one post, Then I will tell what I see and how I will handle the approach in one post. This will continue till I am either admitted, told to leave or shot. The applicants can only present what they can really have or do. I hope this format will be more informative than a thread of laundry list of what they have or can do plus being more fun.

Okay, so I will give this a shot and see if I pick up what you are laying down. I will use, as an example, one of my Ops Sergeants who will claim not to be a prepper or survivalist but seems to live very much like he is. He has 15 acres approx. 17 miles outside of a large community, the acreage is 3 miles off a primary road. You will encounter his driveway 3/4 mile from his actual home, you have to pass through 2 gates until you reach his yard. His property is fenced, has a wind turbine, several horses and lots of trees around the perimeter. There is a silo in his yard which now serves more as a sniper nest than anything else. He is a former US Army Ranger and has a room in his basement with lots of arms and munitions, as well as a fairly large stock of long term food items. He has a natural well and a very large garden. It just him, his wife, a child nearing adulthood and often time one friend who is also former US Army. He will definitely need more bodies to provide the security his acreage will need.

Army Rangers are bad and that is good. And great gun safety CC class teachers. First part of course was verbal and just as important as the actual firing part. So many things we don't even think about.

Sounds close but I as the applicant will not know this and as I approach the first gates I will find out that someone is looking for help by a posted sign 200 yrds downhill on the side of the roadbed.? The instructions on the sign tells me 1; If I have barter items or trade skills how to approach the gate without deadly force being applied. OR 2; informing the applicant that they are under observation from the sign forward . 3; the whole group or just one rep initially from the traveling party. 4; with or without firearms or in what manner.5; What are the gates "friendly" business hours ...ECT..ECT.... What am I going to be allowed to see and know when I find the interview area when I round a curve in the road.

I have approached the gate with my rifle slung over my shoulder and am currently banging on the steel gate post per instructions with the supplied steel pipe since Sunday and no one has met me so I figure the property might be abandoned ? Our bicycles gear and my wife are at the instruction sign seeing if this may be a place to stop.
