Can anyone tell me what tea towels are and what they are used for? There is a homestead just up the road from me. They have their own store and YouTube channel as well and they have some tea towels for sale. I am considering buying some but I'd like to have a better understanding of what they are and how they're used before I purchase any.

And yes since they are local for me sometimes I do buy from them 🙂

Tea towels are made from cotton, linen, or a blend of both. Dish towels can be other fabrics. Tea towels are usually thinner, not as “plush” as dish towels. Size usually plays into it also.
Used to line tea trays and catch drips and keep stuff from sliding around?

Hmm, I guess those are the fancy dish towels in my kitchen drawer, the ones with scenes or embroidery on 'em... I use the functional kind for everyday use, maybe one day I'll break out the others. That or I'll put 'em on a wall somewhere, they're almost too nice to use for drying hands or dishes.

What is the sale price?

$10 for the towel on some designs. $15 is the regular price. These are decorated tea towels. I think they're clearing out some of their inventory to make room for new items. I'm probably not going to buy any this time but I might consider it in the future.

Tea towels are cotton towels. Sometimes they are hand embroidered. They are a thin cotton weave, similar to muslin. I learned from my grandmothers to use them to dry dishes, and terry cloth kitchen towels are used more for hand towels in the kitchen.
