Google made a computer that learned chess by itself (using artificial intelligence), and after 4 hours it completely outclassed the best computer chess computer in the world (which years ago beat the best humans).

AI is taking computers from useful 'tools' to thinking on their own.

How many hours will it take an AI to 'learn' to be a doctor? And how will that computer decide who lives? It's not 'Terminator" directly, but how close to that are we getting?

Until recently, I never believed that AI would be a threat to humanity.

Why has my opinion changed?

We are increasingly using drones for missile strikes and other combat applications. Automated drone warfare is becoming increasingly automated, more destructive, and more precise.

Also, automated cars are in the works.

I used to be closed-minded about AI taking over the world.

Recently?

Not so much.
