Leave Africa to the Africans and build a 50 foot concrete wall in South Gibraltar, fxxk em, Germany is a lost cause, US should pull out of Germany, they can't even defend themselves nor willing to financially support what military they do have. What a shame!
I saw a bunch of Somalis in a store today . They were chattering back and forth and glaring at Everybody with hatred .
Wow. I can see both sides of this. I can see the Germans saying "no" to helping because what they need to do is just drop napalm and other bombs, zero troops on the ground.
I can also see where the german poll was completely off. The #1 answer should have been Merkel (question was what was the greatest threat to peace, I'm assuming for Germany). #2 answer should be the EU (ok, maybe both are #1 & the same?). To say "Trump" is for them to ignore any of their own responsibility. Which is exactly what I expect out of weak-kneed Germans any more. So sad, it was once such a proud and capable people.

Germany / France is loving the US $ and Nato whilst getting totally into bed with Russia. Germany ignored ALL advice from the US / UK/ EU / NATO and is building a new set of gas pipelines from Russia to Germany making Germany as dependent on Russia for its energy as the Ukraine is. I'm starting to see growing comments from the political commenters that the EU/Germany could be planning on cooperating with Russia to totally dominate ALL of Europe. They are already turning against the US, its dollar, the UK and NATO.
Many Europoliticians are saying that Europe should be much closer aligned with the near by Russian Federation than the Americans ( plus UK / Canada)
The Scandinavian nations are getting VERY worried about the wheeling and dealing by their lords and masters in Brusels, Paris and Berlin as they can see their mineral wealth ending up under Russian control in return for cheap energy for the center and south of Europe. But hey if they are stupid enough to trust Germany.................

I will repeat myself only once. Being 3 steps over the president with -need-to-know- back in the Cold War, I was worried that the Russians would be able to mix poison gas with the natural gas coming to Germany. (1978!!) The Jerry gets up, turns on the GAS heater, makes coffee with his GAS stove and gets a shot of MUSTARD GAS to go with his breakfast...in 6 hours, 70% of the jerks are dead and the walk into the European continent is made quite easy from not having any or much defense...tried to convince many of the officers back then and will spread the news again to my readers here. Russians are as patient as the chinese, all they would need to do is wait for one of those ever more frequent massively bad winters, then turn the oil and gas supply off., same end result as yours without war crimes charges.

I believe that the Europeans greatest current threat comes from within, The EU is openly trying to destroy the concept of the Nation State and National Identity in favour of making everyone simply " European" the way our cousins are simply Americans ( but without the freedoms, rights, liberties and guns), and we have all seen the efforts of France, Germany etc in getting into bed with Russia. The writing is on the wall for the creation of the Mk2 version of a Pan European Soviet Union and so far only the brits can see the danger unfolding. The Scandies are in for disappointment if they put their security and future in the hands of the Europeans, they should be moving closer to the US and UK and away from Europe.

Well Bill, some of the states went to war with the others when their sovereignty was being attacked. End result was that all states essentially relinquished their sovereignty to the Federal Government after the Civil War. But SOME of those states have been fighting ever since to try to hang onto as much of the power guaranteed to them by the Constitution as they can and get demonized when they do.
We've been joined by some Western states who also want to assert their Constitutional states rights. Problem is, many if not most of the states are perfectly happy handing over everything to the Federal Government, and the Federal Government acts as though the Constitutional limits on the Federal Government don't exist. To wit: Amendment X: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
You have countries in Europe, especially former members of the Soviet Bloc (who had a belly full of centralized power under the Soviets), who aren't giving up their sovereignty without a fight.

Both of you, DrH and Bill are quite right. Even here in Germany, the Bavarian Free State is having internal discussions of how much money they have to pay into a central account called the "State balance and equality". Certain states here have no big industrial incomes like Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. So, these, among others, have to pay into this account and the weak or poorer states get to dig out their share. It would be like Texas and California paying to support the building of streets, paying the governors wages and building schools in Missouri or Deleware. Some of these richer states are claiming that the "democratic" rich states are being mis-used by the
"socialist" poor states. The rich states have Republican type gov't and the poor states have Democratic types of people in their gov't. (ring any bells?)

Good morning VJ, another reason why we want to go to Hungary...Victor Orban. He has made two statements to Brussels which made him even more dis-liked there but more popular at home.
1. The Turks were here in Europe for 400 years before we were free from them. They are NOT welcome to come back again.
2. You are talking about the immigrants, they will be integrating. The gypsies here in Hungary have been here over 300 years and still speak no Hungarian. Only those who are willing to integrate, do and will. The others can go to Germany.
I like the idea of making your homeland, fatherland, motherland or whatever you call home, safer for the people living and paying taxes there. I don't care for the self-rightous rich (hiding their money in Offshores), the self-rightous WASP (hiding behind their above-human rights) the self-rightous religious (hiding behind their popes) or the self-rightous minorities (hiding behind the skirts of their history). I only respect the self-made men and women of today. The others are parasites living off the rest of us. If you take care of your self, your family, your health, your land, your future, then I respect YOU. If you have your hands held out or up, then you are a looser. Black and white for me, no gray. Do something to make the world a bit better or get out of the way for those who want to. Nothing in life is so hard as raising a family and getting your children ready for the reality of the world as it is today. My kids are strong, mind-set, respectful and loving parents.
