A packaged arrived at our post office on the 16th according to the usps informed delivery app
App says it will be delivered on the 20th
That is this coming monday

Another package arrived at the post office tbe 17th. And is out for delivery today

Why isn’t the other package going anywhere?

I think the postal service has gotten more and more messed up as time has gone on. I have considered getting a P.O. box where I can have more important things sent. You get the notification slip in your box, take it to the counter and retrieve your package. With all the porch pirates lately, I think we are going more and more in this direction.

We have a PO Box where we get all our mail and packages. The only problem we have is that some online vendors will not ship to a PO Box.

One of the problems for our post office is that it is OLD and it wasn't built to house all the packages that are coming in the mail these days. A postal worker told me that their major source of income now is packages. This also causes a huge problem for our rural devilery person. Her vehicle isn't big enough to accomodate the huge influx of packages. So, many times I will get a notice to come and get my package at the post office if it is oversize, which irks me b/c I paid for the postage. On the other hand, I understand the problem.

So, for our PO, if the package is oversized, you have to go and pick it up yourself. They appreciate a quick pick up b/c they don't have much space which creates a huge organizational issue for them.

I have no issue with the PO here. Great mailman. He hand delivers to the door of the disabled woman down the road from us. Over sized stuff he drops at our front stoop.

Vut what gets me is how Amazon chooses a carrier. We ordered a new mail box. Shipped it via USPS! What were they thinking?

ive been having alot of problems with rural mail delivery. heard the same from others in other states. packages dont get felivered, sometimes days later, sometimes they go missing, sometimes i get a notice it was delivered but never was. its very frustrating so ive tried using walmart more cause they deliver via fedex most of the time. sometimes they say cant deliver got to come pick up your mail. im very rural, no mail delivery to homes--its a row of boxes on the nearest paved road--about a mile from me. the PO is 35 miles away so trying to find someone who will drive all the way there and back to get my mail-- i pay their gas to do so--its just seems to be getting worse every month

im thinking its a couple of reasons rolled up together--so many quit not wanting the jab, many sick and still working, many cant work--disbled from the jab--im finding the smae problem in just aobut every busieness sector.

***sorry gor miles typo--im 35m away not 325 lol

I thought the PO was NOT subject to the jab mandate?

My father retired from the PO at the earliest opportunity. He hated working there.

We had the same problem getting packages delivered. I put a stop to it by offering to back charge them every time I have to drive 40 miles round trip to retrieve a package that I had paid to have delivered. I told them I would only charge the mileage rate as is on taxes. Since then they have brought all my packages and delivered them as they have been paid to do.............. YMMV I was nice about it but I also let them know I meant business.

Standard government operating procedure: "We don't care because we don't need to care."

I KNOW of one place the post office really screws up. Where I live you were able to choose where you got mail from back in the day, one of two or three towns. Now a days that means people in this area have two or three other mail carriers pass their place every day that do NOT deliver mail to their house and one that does. Just think how much redundant driving the carriers have to do with their routes overlapping like that. I've been told they overlap by more than ten miles! This appears to happen pretty much everywhere in the country areas between towns. Generally around here there's a small town about every twenty - twenty five miles along the larger older roads.

ha--sorry --i live about 35 m way from the po--sorry for the typo- that would be far away. in tghe winter it feels like it tho..

Related question for those rural folks with mail delivery:

Let's say you live out in the country and have an 800-foot driveway like we do. You have a mail box at the intersection of the county road and the entrance to your driveway. And let's say a package is being delivered. The package is not huge but it is too big to fit inside the mail box. What happens? Does the driver (a) place the package on the ground. (b) tie it to the mail box, (c) drive up the driveway and deliver it to your door, or (d) place a card in the mail box directing you to pick it up at the post office?

USPS and Canada Post in country are equally bad.. Trust me on that..
What is worse is when sending anything that will be handled by both systems..

Either system handles deliveries from anywhere else in the world quicker, faster, easier than between USPS and Canada Post..

Back on the farm, the mailman and couriers delivered to the house and the drive way was more than 800 ft. I had to pull some bald tired delivery trucks back up the hill a few times in the winter. They all had treats for the dogs.

I always left a Christmas card with some appreciation every year in the mail box because of the great service.

Here, the community mail boxes are located in the old school bus pick up zone. Anything too big for them gets dropped under the over hang of my front door. It doesn't happen very often and we know our neighbors; there aren't very many of them.

Couriers don't deliver out here. We pick up those packages in town.

our British postal service is getting worse and worse, our local sorting office only has 13 mail persons when they really need around 30, the whole service is losing money anyway, we can go for several days without any postal delivery.

When I had my place on Lake Superior several holidays of the year I would leave a bag of Halloween candy for the carrier and her crew of subs.. many times with a little note like ..happy holiday, thank you for your hard work.. They always treated me well..

Your tracking number was this?! I'd sue.
