Not a lot of posting here, maybe I can keep coming back to this thread.

The new motor for the Ranchero gets delivered to the BOL today. A friend is putting it on a stand in the shop for me.

I haven't seen it, but I know the builder, I'm not worried.

450 hp/475 ft pd Ford 460 big block. It was built as a matched set of two, installed on a truck pull truck. The transmission came out and smacked him in the leg on the third run with the truck. So he decided to sell the motors.

I think it's going to be more motor than I need to pull the Airstream, so I might de-tune it.

Now just need to get the Ranchero down there, and swap them out.

So, the motor was delivered.

Way, way more than I thought I was getting. The ignition system alone is worth more than the AR, which I still get to shoot, and the rest of the parts on it come out to around 4 grand. So I am super excited. I met a goal, and got a really good deal.
I'm going to build my friend a really, really nice apartment.

Nice, man that is a beast of a motor.... did they fix the oiling issue they have on the top end?

What trans are you backing it up with?
