Well, be glad you don't work in Alabama!

The Daily Star said:
"Jenna Anderson, one of Mr Houston’s coworkers, says she heard him scream for about 15 seconds after the crematory was activated."
"Ms. Anderson claims that the young coworker who caused the accident was a new employee, and had forgotten to check for the toe tag to make sure he had the right body."
Wow. All I can think about is how long 15 seconds is.
...And that was only until he couldn't scream any more.

*Disclaimer: I worked with people like that in Alabama for 30 years and lived to tell about it.

You have to look at the bright side, he got 50% off of a funeral because half of it had already been done. :p.
Mr. Houston>

I guess he won't falling asleep on the job again!

That's awful!!
Happens a lot in Alabama. I'm not going to doxx my former career, but I found myself in the position of showing lawyers proof that it was impossible for the equipment to have caused the accident that caused the injury or $100,000's in damage. Dragging out all of the training records for employees. Etc.
It saved them million$ but you don't make a lot of friends doing that.
...Which is one of the reasons that I live in "the undisclosed location" today :(.

"Happens a lot in Alabama."

I hope you mean they cremate the wrong body, and not a live body. I have not heard of that happening before. OMG!! 😨

Hard to imagine the guy was that soundly asleep to not wake up when the stretcher was moved. I have never seen one, but I thought the body was put on a conveyor and rolled into the whatever it is called. Wouldn't the body have to be moved a lot? How did the guy not wake up?

Yeah, this sounds highly suspicious to me. I don't think even negligence covers this one. It was either extreme stupidity or intentional evil.

Yeah, I smell a rat. Nobody sleeps that soundly. Nobody takes a nap on a stretcher in a crematorium, no matter how tired you are. The dude was likely not dressed in his Sunday best and his skin wasn't alien grey nor was he likely laying flat with his hand clasped on his abdomen without any sound or chest movement. I don't care how 'new' of an employee you are........you'd have to be deaf, dumb, and blind not to know that person was alive. There's some shenanigans going on there.

My day at work went much better, thank you.:ghostly:

This has to top what I would consider the previous record. Google Ron Wayne. He was the third leg of the triangle with Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. He was a 10% owner, who sold his share early on for $800.00. Today it would be worth somewhere near $70 Billion. That's a pretty bad day.

At first, I was thinking he was sleeping on the job, what the heck? He may have had a job where he had hours of just waiting, with nothing to do. When I managed and oilfield warehouse, that was my life. The boss told me to do what I needed to do to stay there and to keep myself entertained. One of his suggestions was to read books. I did. But me, being me, I often set up my sewing machine and sewed. I made quilt tops and other things. Boss was okay with it, because I was at work, waiting for the phone to ring, or someone to walk in and pick up some needed part. I had days when I literally saw no customers, especially when the oil business was in a slump. You can only clean the office and warehouse so many times!

I agree with @angie_nrs , something is fishy, and we may never know the whole story.

Someone told me that her husband said in January that he should buy a bunch of surgical masks and sell them online. He and his buddy were texting and his friend's response, "LOL." Then friend did it and said he has made more than $10,000 profit since January.
